Uber is reportedly looking to get family friendly with a new service for passengers with kids.
"Uber Family" would provide cars equipped with child seats and operated by only the highest-rated Uber drivers, according to a story from VentureBeat.
Requesting an Uber Family car would result in a $10 surcharge. New York is said to be the trail city for the program.
A spokesperson for Uber said there is no information on a family service to share right now, but added "we're always working on new ways to deliver value to riders."
The company has made recent moves to shore up its insurance, adding a $1 'safe rides fee' and expanding coverage to include times when a driver does not have or is not on the way to pick up a passenger. Read more...
